Welcome to the IBA’27 Exhibition Year!

Welcome to the IBA’27 Exhibition Year!

From 24 April to 30 October 2027, the International Building Exhibition IBA’27 will showcase the results of a ten-year search for the future of housing, living and working. Look forward to a summer full of discoveries, insights and inspiration – a launch pad into the future of the Stuttgart Region.

Experience the IBA’s topics and projects in 2027:

Weissenhof 2027: Discover Stuttgart’s Weissenhof Estate (partly UNESCO World Heritage Site) and its surroundings in time for its 100th anniversary – including at the freshly built Weissenhof.Forum visitor centre.

Thriving Neighbourhood Connections: Explore two pioneering IBA neighbourhoods in the heart of a typical post-war housing estate in Stuttgart-Rot: with affordable flats, new forms of housing, green spaces for a strong community and local amenities right next door.

The construction site of the future: Discover new ways of building – faster and more sustainably – at the university campus in Stuttgart-Vaihingen: robots weaving walls, a high-rise with muscles, digitally designed ceilings of wicker and clay.

From factory to vibrant neighbourhood: Experience the historic Neckarspinnerei factory in Wendlingen as a lively neighbourhood: working and housing merge into a productive daily life, high-tech moves into heritage buildings, and green outdoor spaces create quality of life. Along the way: a timber car park, potentially transforming into flats.

The central IBA exhibition: Immerse yourself in the ways we build, live and work in the future – in a former department store in the heart of Stuttgart: here the themes and projects of the IBA converge in a large interactive exhibition.

Intrigued? Stuttgart and the surrounding region are well worth a visit: 24 April to 30 October 2027

Across the Stuttgart Region, many more IBA project locations welcome you with exhibitions, guided tours, workshops, discussions, hands-on activities, art and culture for visitors of all ages.
