Dr. Johannes Novy

Johannes Novy is an urban planner and researcher. He currently teaches as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Westminster in London. His research interests include urban and planning theory, urban (development) politics, urban tourism and leisure consumption.

Born in 1977, Novy studied urban planning and urban studies in Germany, Italy and the United States, where he graduated from Columbia University in New York with a doctorate in urban planning in 2011.

Johannes Novy also teaches at other universities, such as the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. He is a member of the Berlin urbanist collective u-Lab, studio for city and spatial processes and, in addition to teaching and research, also advises and publishes in the areas of urban and tourism development, planning and politics.
