Prof. Thomas Auer

Thomas Auer is a professor of building technology and climate-friendly construction at the Technical University of Munich and a member of the management board of Transsolar Energietechnik GmbH. He works with renowned architectural firms worldwide on award-winning projects that are characterized by their innovative design and integral climate strategies. Based on his profound understanding of integrated building technology and energy efficiency in buildings and urban districts, he has developed energy and comfort concepts for projects all over the world.

Thomas Auer has taught at various universities – including Yale University (New Haven) – and was appointed full professor at TUM in 2014. His research focuses on the decarbonization of the building sector, as well as climate adaptation and its impact on the quality of life. He is a member of the Academy of Arts and an associate member of the BDA.
