Anh-Linh Ngo

Anh-Linh Ngo is an architect, author and, along with Nikolaus Kuhnert and Günther Uhlig, co-editor of the architecture magazine ARCH+. Ngo, who was born in Kontum, Vietnam, in 1974, studied architecture at RWTH Aachen and was a DAAD scholarship holder at the University of Newcastle in Great Britain. He has been an editorial member of ARCH+ since 2004 and its editor-in-chief since 2016.

With ARCH+, founded in 1967 at the University of Stuttgart, Anh-Linh Ngo heads the leading discursive editorial team for architecture and urbanism. The quarterly issues illuminate topics in detail and take up current discussions from other disciplines for the architecture and urban discourse. In addition to the publications, ARCH+ has developed various conversation series, such as the ARCH+ features and salons. In March 2020, ARCH+ received the Berlin Art Prize of the Academy of Arts in the architecture section.

Ngo regularly curates exhibitions, most recently »1989-2019 – Politics of Space in the New Berlin« at the Neuer Berliner Kunstverein. He was a co-founder of the international initiative »projekt bauhaus« (2015 to 2019) and a member of the art advisory board of the ifa Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen (2010 to 2016), for which he developed the touring exhibition »Post-Oil City« in 2009. In 2018, Ngo initiated and curated the ifa exhibition »An Atlas of Commoning: Places of Community Creation«. He is currently co-curator of the »Cohabitation« exhibition and research project on the coexistence of human and non-human species in the city, which is funded by the German Federal Cultural Foundation.
